Due to the competition of 3C (Computer, Communication and Consumer-electronics) market, product design complexity, high quality and shorter development cycle. The effort with Trial and Error or experienced worker to design new products will not meet current market requirements. Several different optimization methods are collocated with Moldflow4.1 to minimize the plastic part’s warpage through geometric and processing parameters optimization. The approximate function relation between control factors and the corresponding output is obtained by artificial neural network or response surface method in advance. Genetic algorithm, simulation annealing method and simplex method are then used to seek for the best combination of geometry control factor in order to reduce warpage. It is indicated that the best geometry control factors being obtained from combination of artificial neural network and genetic algorithm is most reliable. Furthermore, the models with the best geometric control factors being obtained to undertake processing parameters optimization of Taguchi method, improvement of warpage will be further obtained.
