Wireless communication have become a popular topic in recent mobile communication. It is necessary that we apply channel equalization and channel coding techniques in data transmission when we transmit data in multi-path fading channels, which typically suffer serious signal degradation. In this thesis, We consider an iterative system, diversified turbo equalization, which consists of equalization, decoding, and diversity techniques. In diversified turbo equalization, we utilize the multi-path diversity gains to improve signal-to-noise performance. Finally, the performances of these techniques mentioned above are evaluated by computer simulation in multi-path fading channels. Simulation results show that the performances of diversified turbo equalization are better than conventional turbo equalization when the channel SNR(signal-to-noise ratio) is greater than a certain threshold. We also propose a trellis equalization at the receiver to perform the multi-path interference cancellation and the channel decoding by using the iterative exchange of soft information between equalizers and decoders. Besides, this thesis also uses extrinsic information transfer chart (EXIT Chart) to describe the mutual information transfer characteristics of equalizer and decoder in the receiver. And then we analyse the convergence behavior of turbo system. The exchange of extrinsic information is visualized as a decoding trajectory in the extrinsic information transfer chart. This allows the prediction of turbo cliff position and bit error rate after an arbitrary number of iterations.
