This research discusses the effect of the electrospinning conditions including voltage, concentration, and distance on the thermal and biological properties of gelatin fibers. The spinning dope consisted of gelatin, formic acid, ethanol, and water as solvent. The results show that the gelatin fiber spun with 20kV from the 15% dope solution exhibited better nanostructure. The highest uniformity in the fiber diameter was attained when the distance was 15cm. After crosslinking with glutaraldehyde, the nonwoven exhibited higher thermal stability. In addition, gelatin non-woven exhibits a higher cell seeding efficiency than the control (TCPS) and also promotes CRL 1927 proliferation.
