A Study of Foreign Spouses' Innovativeness, Life Adaptation, and Child-rearing Attitude

| Popis: | 94 The purpose of this research is to explore the interactions between foreign spouses’ innovativeness, life adaptation, and child-rearing attitude; and whether the interactions depend on any social demographic specification. From literature review and survey, data were collected and analyzed through SPSS 10.0. The 198 subjects in the study were foreign spouses that attended the Adult Education Class for Foreign Spouses in Kaohsiung County. The survey tools were Innovativeness Scale, Life Adaptation Scale, and Child-rearing Scale. The questionnaires were also translated into Vietnamese and Indonesian for those with limited understanding in Chinese. The study concludes that first of all, spouses above thirty years old perform better than those below. Second, Spouses with longer marriage duration perform better. Finally, working spouses have a better child-rearing attitude. Suggestions from the research will serve as a reference for related government authorities, foreign spouses, society, and researchers. |
