Popis: | 94 The purpose of this study is to realize how grade, gender, and text structure influence the oral reading rate for elementary school students, and to discuss the relationship between oral reading rate, accuracy, and comprehension. The five hundred forty subjects were chosen from the elementary school in Kaoshiung City, ninty students each grade; by comparing the normal students with one contrasting group, the learning difficulties student in resource classroom. All subjects have to read two narrative texts and two exposity ones, then take the reading comprehension tests. The data were analyzed by the descriptive statistics, two-way analysis of variance, and product-moment correlation. The main findings were summarized as follows: 1.The difference in oral reading rate among elementary school students will be affected by grade, gender, and text structure. 2.The oral reading rate for elementary school students is related to reading comprehension. 3.The accuracy for elementary school students is not significantly related to oral reading rate or reading comprehension. 4.The learning difficulities is backward in oral reading performance. Theoretical and practical implication as well as suggestions for future researchers were discussed in the thesis. |
