The airport is a national critical facility, Taiwan goes abroad the population to continue every year to increase, therefore the airport operation can directly affect the passenger. Gate assignment plays an important role and has significant number impact on the operation of an airport system. If assignment gate operates smoothly, can be all arriving passengers, departing passengers and transferring passengers has a better degree of satisfaction. Also reduce the airline costs, and let each passenger obtain a better service. The traditional approach for planning the gate assignment in Taiwan is not based on a systematic analysis. It is ineffective and inefficient, especially when the air transportation is growing rapidly. The zero-one integer programming techniques have been applied to solving the gate assignment problems. This study discussion the airport authorities assignment gate, according to the airport assignment principle, by mathematics programming constructs a perfect model, and a case study by Kaohsiung International Airport. This study employs AMPL/CPLEX solve gate assignment problem, that is useful to the airport authorities for assigning flights to gates efficiently. Let the airport authorities, the airline, the passenger etc, can be obtain better degree of satisfaction, and provides the method of parking by assignment to flight operation officer for use.
