Popis: | 94 A systematic study of effects of three cosolvents (methanol, ethanol, and 1-propanol) on the formability of liposomes and catansomes from PL-90 and three ion-pair amphiphiles (DeTMA‧DS, DeTMA‧TS, and DTMA‧DS), respectively, by a simple preparing method through homogenizing was carried out in this work. The experimental results revealed that significant enhancement of liposome and catansome stability has been achieved by cosolvent addition. In general, liposome formability at first increased with increasing the cosolvent concentration, reached a maximum at a specific concentration, and thereafter decreased with further increasing the concentration. The liposome formability eventually becomes negligible at concentrations higher than a specific value. The effectiveness of vesicle promoting increases in the order 1-propanol > ethanol > methanol. An explanation of cosolvent effects based on the medium dielectric constant was then proposed. Furthermore, the encapsulation and release behavior of ethosomes and catansomes were also studied. |
