| Popis: | 94 An application of distributed geographic information system (DGIS) using the Touchien River investigation data is developed in this thesis. The DGIS follows a three-layer architecture. Are series of products are adopted for this specific application. For examples, ArcIMS is used to publish maps over Internet, ArcSDE connects geospatial data to backend SQL Server, and ArcXML is employed to transmit the users'' requests. There are three main achievements accomplished in this research. First of all, investigation data is integrated. The integration is necessary and convenient for public end users, investigators, and decision makers. Secondly, a customized query system is developed. Through the customization of interface design, map layouts and their attributes can be effectively displayed for various application users. Finally, the conversion of map data between grid and vector in both 40m*40m and 1km*1km scales is implemented. The conversion is required for map overlapping and for further query applications. |
