The study is explored the difference between new venture’s and general business’ technological trajectories development via the singal case studying. In light of this, the research through observes and in-depth interviews with top manager of a new venture in southern science park. Collecting literature and relevant data, analyzing the new venture’s primary（secondary）data, and obtaining conclusion by using the triangulation of qualitative analysis. The research discovered the technological trajectories development of new ventures is more focused on identification of the market’s opportunity than of general business. The new technology of new venture becomes the sub-technological trajectories in the industry via exploitation of resource, market examination, technological improvement etc. Gradually, the new technology takes the place of dominant technology of industry, and becomes the new technologicl paradigm. Consequently, in order to explore the difference with between, at first, the research selects a new venture that is based on technique, and determines the research target. Secondly, we have analyzed the company’s course of new venture’s technological trajectories development via literature study and in-depth interview. Finally, it is compared with general technological trajectories development and obtained conclusion. Pass a succession of observations and furtuer investigation, it not only provides a model to new venture that is based on technical ability, but also distinguishes the difference technological trajectories development in industry from academia through coordination, comparison and analysis between new venture and general business. More importantly, it is also to build the foundation of follow-up study of technological trajectories development.
