Streptomyces padanus PMS-702 not only has the potential for preventing and curing the organism attack (for example, it can control the diseases of Rhizoctonia damping-off of cabbage and tomato late blight), but also can be applied to clinical medical treatment of tumor. This research is focused on fungichromin production from streptomyces padanus PMS-702 in the submerged culture. Effects of adding different lipids and surfactants on fungichromin production were investigated. In the experiments, it showed that some of the lipids could increase the fungichromin production. On the other hand, surfactants such as Tween 80 and Span 80, mainly composed of olein, could increase the fungichromin production. In the flask test, 1mL of Span80 was added to 100 mL of broth on the first day and 10 mL, 5% of glucose on the fourth day, the fungichromin concentration could reach 1470 mg/L on the sixth day, which is 11.6 times compared to that without any addition (127 mg/L). On the other hand, in 5L fermentor with working volume of 3L, 30mL of Span 80 was added on the second day, 150 mL, 20% of glucose on the third day, and 30 mL of Span 80 on the eighth day, the fungichromin concentration could reach 2542 mg/L on the twelfth day, which is 10.3 times to that without any addition (247 mg/L).
