The capacity of lead-acid batteries decreases with the number of cycles and using time. This process is known as aging. The reduction of capacity affects not only the operation time but also the performance of the equipment and of the system attached to the battery.The cycle life test was performed on a system including 48 YUASA NP7-12 batteries. Each battery is nominally rated at 12 Volts and 7 Ah. This paper analyzed the data obatind from the cycle life test processes. The capacity of a battery depends on its constructure, material and operating status..Estimating the residual capacity of a lead acid battery is a highly non-trivial task.In this paper, a new modified method improved from coulomb counting techniques for lead-acid battery is proposed. This method uses the relationships between the battery residual capacity、terminal voltage、discharge time and the variable discharge For a aged cell, voltage discharging curve is distorted seriously. In this paper, the changed rate of discharged voltage was used to determining the deterioration of the battery.
