The thesis is to design and implement 2~6GHz wide-band power amplifier, which satisfies the standard of IEEE802.11a/b/g in ISM (Industrial Science and Medical) band operate of 2.4GHz and UNII (Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure )band operate of 5GHz for the Wireless Local Area Network applications. In this thesis, we discussed the basic theories in the microwave thesis design and circuit design techniques, in order to meet Wireless Local Area Network. For MIC(Microwave Integrated Circuit) design, We use the simulation tool of ADS 2004a (Advance Design System 2004a) from Agilent corporation to simulate and analyze the circuit, and we also use MEMFET Power transistor from CELERITEK Inc. and MuRata’s passive surface mount device (SMD) to implement the circuit. We select the quiescent point at 4 Volt –79mA to meet class A operation. For input matching, we use the compensated broadband matching network, and for output power matching, we use the load pull technique to meet the standard of IEEE802.11a/b/g for the Wireless Local Area Network applications.
