Simply based on the spin coating scheme together with suitable masking arrangement, the properties in sensing humidity, temperature and HCl vapor by thin-film Poly(anilinesulfonic acid) sensors coated on both glass and silicone substrates were examined in this study. The sensor showed different trends in humidity dependence on different substrates. Besides, different from the bulk ones, the resistance of the thin-film sensor was first increased then followed by a decrease as the humidity was enhanced. With suitable control of film thickness and appropriate selection of substrate, the SPANI has high potential for sensing humidity, temperature, and hydrochloric acid.
