Militarism in the Southeast Asia has been a great issue for scholars around the world. The Indonesian military has had a key role in establishing the independent state, implementing parliamentary politics, carrying out governing democracy and developing military coups. The Indonesian military supervises and controls the politics. Particularly In 1998,the military president Suharto fell from power due to the financial storm. Then the former president Abdurrahman.Wahid and the country’s military had a political battle. These incidents much highlight the important role that the Indonesian military has played in the country. However, for the politics development in Thailand, the year 1932 for Constitutional Revolution is a milestone. From 1932 up to 1992,the governing power had shifted between the civilian government and the military government. Nineteen coups took place, but only eleven of them succeeded during the period in Thailand. The phenomenon of the frequent coups has seemed to be unique in the Thailand politics. The military intervention has become normal to the country. This paper aims to explore how the Indonesian military and the Thailand military influence their politics, and to focus on how the militaries and the governments interact with each other, and what kind of role that the militaries play in politics as well.
