The destruction of life habitats and over-use of living being resources have gradually threatened biodiversity. The resolution to the threat is to let everyone hold correct knowledge and attitudes toward biodiversity conservation. The purpose of this study was to develop and teach a biodiversity conservation program, and to evaluate the effectiveness of this instruction on 5th grade students’ biodiversity knowledge and attitudes. A quasi- experimental design was used with 2 classes. One class(n =30)was randomly assigned as the experimental group, and the other(n =29)was the control group. Students in experimental group were given 4 weeks of teaching activities on biodiversity conservation program; while the control group received no classes during the same time. A closed-ended, pre-test/post-test questionnaire was used to assess the outcome effects. The main findings of this study were as the following: (1)This program can increase students’biodiversity conservation knowledge. (2)This program can positively enhance students’ attitudes toward biodiversity conservation. (3)The experimental group students held a positive attitude about this program. Their favorite activities are interactive teaching methods such as investigation, observation, and operation. Finally, based on the results of the study, recommendations and suggestions were offered to teachers, and research works.
