The Quasi-Experimental Design was used to experiment on two classes of the second graders in Hsin-Chu Girls’ Senior High School, among which are 94 students in all. The experimental group (47 students) was based on cooperative learning teaching, while the control group (47 students) was based on traditional teaching. It was a 10-weeks research. The tools used in this study include achievement test of living technology, the cooperative skills scale, the questionnaire of the learning satisfaction and other related documents. Statistical methods such as mean, standard deviation, and ANCOVA were used to analyze quantitative research data; while qualitative research data was analyzed by content analysis. Major findings were listed as following: (1)The Experimental Group based on Cooperative Learning Teaching and the Control Group based on the traditional general teaching shows no obvious difference in students'' learning achievement test result in Living Technology. It shows that as for Living Technology Teaching, Cooperative Learning Teaching has no obvious effects in learning achievements. (2)After Cooperative Learning, social skills, working skills and cooperative skills can be promoted. As for the performance of cooperative skills for senior high school students, teacher is mostly the provider of an environment which can let students develop, not only the instructor during the class. The group leader, reporter and recorder in every group of the class promoted the participation of everyone of the class, and they are the principal part of the group. Besides, they all behaved much better than the others. (3)The Experimental Group students have a positive attitude toward the Cooperative Learning Teaching. Working together can build a target of the group and dependence positively on each other, thus it leads to success. Discussion can promote students’ learning motive and groups’ will to participate in group activities. And reflection and review in group processing are contributive to group cooperation and development of cooperative skills.
