Popis: | 93 “Open education” is a philosophy which is new and developing in Taiwan. Under the influence of the emerging idea for education, the design concept of “clustered classroom” has become prevailing in school planning, no matter in new or renovated primary schools since 1999. The study emphasizes on the indoor environmental quality of “clustered classroom” in 4 schools in Kaohsiung, which are the most experienced (for 6 years)in the application of the design concept. For the comparison, 15 classrooms including 4 traditional samples are investigated by questionnaire survey, detailed monitoring at the same time. After the analysis and comparison of IEQ problems between clustered classrooms and traditional classrooms, the summary of the results are as follows: 1.Noise All types of classrooms exceeded the acoustic standards of 55 dB(A) for 20dB(A) during the students’ lesson hours in window opened condition. The suggested range of reverberation times in unoccupied classrooms is 0.8~1.0 seconds. All kinds of classrooms were above the suggested range. The reverberation times in clustered classrooms were longer than the traditional classrooms, because of the difference of room capacity and the building material. 2.Light To classify the units of cluttered classrooms, there were three types of opening pattern: single directional opening, bi-directional horizontal opening and bi-directional vertical opening. Without using auxiliary lighting, the single directional opening units and bi-directional vertical opening units were all poor lighting intensity and uniformity ratio of illuminance. And the bi-directional horizontal opening had higher daylight factor than the other two kinds of patterns. 3.Thermal comfort Almost half of clustered classrooms exceeded the ISO-7730 thermal comfort standards for PMV value for 0.04~0.44, during January to April 2005. All the traditional classrooms, which were measured in May, 2005, the PMV mean value exceeded the thermal comfort standards for 2.03. That was seriously over the thermal comfort scale. 4.Air quality The indoor carbon monoxide(CO)and carbon dioxide(CO2)levels were measured continuously throughout one school day. The clustered classrooms were measured in the natural ventilated condition, and the traditional classrooms were measured in natural and mechanical ventilated condition. The CO and CO2 levels in all cases were within the standard range. But the indoor PM10 concentration exceeded the suggested limit in some clustered classrooms. |
