A Study on the Perceived Image and the Importance and Performance of the Recreational Quality Factors of Kaohsiung City

| Popis: | 93 The purpose of this study was to investigate the perceived tourism image and importance and performance of recreational quality factors of Kaohsiung city. This study also examined if there existed significant difference among these perceptions by personal background or participation behavior. The data collection was by questionnaire to survey the visitors of four major recreational tourism resources in Kaohsiung such as Scientific Arts Museum, Lotus Lake, Love River and Chi-chin Seashore Park. The number of effective returned questionnaires was 787 (71.5% of 1100). The data analysis methods included descriptive statistics, factor analysis, t test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis and Importance and Performance analysis (IPA). The results showed most of the visitors came from Kaohsiung city or county with age 20 to 40, most of the correspondents accompanied by family or relatives, over 45% of the visitors expressed their satisfaction, about 60% of the visitors were willing to visit again or recommend the destination to others and most of the visitors had higher image in diversified festivals, arts’ activities or dining choices. This study also found some personal background or participation behavior affected the perceptions indeed. In addition, there existed significantly related among the importance and performance of recreational quality factors and willingness to repeat visit. Finally, the IPA analysis showed that the location of facilities, security measurements, environment cleanness, accessibility, programming, guide posts and beautiful landscape would be priorities needed to be improved. |
