It takes time-spending and manpower-consuming for checking all of the lights to keep working normally on the streets and roads. In this thesis, a real-time monitoring network has been investigated. The purposed main construction here utilizes the streetlight power line integrating with the technology of low-voltage power line carrier, computer network, and communication technology to be a streetlight monitoring management system. This system possesses the abilities of long-distance diagnosis and detection, which can monitor the streetlight conditions, situations, and the amount of the breakdown to economize a lot of human resource cost, shorten the breakdown time, and advance the efficiency of streetlight preservation management. In this thesis, a streetlight real-time feedback automatic monitor system which sets up the network takes advantage of the present streetlight power line equipped the detector (Power Line Device, PLD) to measure power load consumption, judge whether the streetlight is normal, and control the on/off switch. For the on-line control purpose, it also utilizes the power line modem (PLM) to collect the information from PLD. In order to have the most efficacy of the transmission, the package-form information, which includes the streetlight situations is transmitted back to monitor management center immediately by hot-line modem. Hence, it can handle the situation of streetlight, which can be repaired immediately once it is broken. Furthermore, this proposed system can also calculate the power loading and the number of the broken streetlight provided to the maintain administrative unit to manage and preserve the analysis system. In this thesis, the streetlight loop of each region in Kaohsiung city would be as example to do the on-site simulation to confirm the accuracy and practicability of the proposed method.
