Health-Promoting Lifestyles and the Related Factors of the Military in Kaohsiung Area

Popis: | 93 The purposes to perform this research were: (1) to realize the demographic characters of the military, their perceived heath status, and the status of their health-promoting lifestyles;(2)to analyze the relationships among the demographic characters of military, their perceived health status, and the status of the health-promoting lifestyles;(3) to study the predictors of the military’s health-promoting lifestyles. The adopted Instruments were the demographic characters survey, the perceived health status scale, and the health-promoting lifestyle profile. The subjects were the military in Kaohsiung area. A cross-sectional design was adopted and data were collected from 505 military via shelf -reported questionnaires, which presented response rate of 91.8%, The data was analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed : (1)In the perceived health status, most subjects considered their health status being better than general population ; In the health-promoting lifestyles﹐the highest score was the Interpersonal support﹐ followed by self-fulfillment、exercise、 stress management、nutrition aspect﹐and the lowest was heath responsibility;(2)In the demographic characters﹐ the factors Influencing the health-promoting lifestyles of the military were ages, body mass index, the kinds of military, the class of military, the performance to search health-promoting information research and the desire to search health-promoting information。Meanwhile﹐the perceived health status also presented significant relation with the health-promoting lifestyles.(3) The alcoholic drinking hobby, the perceived health status, the performance to search health-promoting information research and the desire to search health-promoting information were the significant predictors and explained 25.6% of the variance of health-promoting lifestyles. Results from this research could present as references for School education, military medical services and administration to promote the health-promoting lifestyles among military and the idea for further research in this field. |
