高中職學生A型行為特質、生活壓力及憂鬱傾向之相關研究

The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between type A behavior, life stress, and depression among various backgrounds (gender, grade, birth order, and family social-economic status ) of senior high and vocational school students. The study was conducted by means of questionnaire survey. The subjects in this study were the students from grade 1 to 3 in Taiwan’s public and private senior high and vocational schools. The effective samples added up to 675. The research tools included “Type A Behavior Pattern Scale for Children.”, “The Stress of Daily Hassles Checklist” and “ Adolescent Depression Questionnaire ”. The findings of the study were as followings: 1.The overall type A behavior of senior high and vocational school students was close to lower-then-middle level. Among all type A behavior dimensions, “Aggressiveness and Hostility” was the highest. Next was “Competition and Achievement”. “Time Urgency” was the lowest. 2. The overall life stress of senior high and vocational high school students was close to lower-then-middle level. Among all life stress dimensions, “Stress of Self Expectation” was the highest. Next were “Stress of School and Education Culture”, “Stress of Parenting” and “Stress of Adolescence”. “Stress of Communication and Emotion” was the lowest. 3.The overall depression of senior high and vocational school students was close to lower-then-middle level. The most common depression was “ I care about others’ reactions very much.” 4.In the dimension of “Competition and Achievement”, there was significant difference between senior high and vocational school students in different grade. The students in grade 1 had higher stress than those in grade 3. However, there was no significant difference between those in grade 2 and grade 3. 5.In the dimension of “Time Urgency “, there was significant difference between senior high and vocational school students in different family social-economic status. 6.There was a significant correlation between Type A Behavior, Life Stress, and Depression. 7.There was a significant correlation between Life Stress and Depression. 8.The Depression didn’t interacted with Type A Behavior and Life Stress. 9.For senior high and vocational high school students, Type A Behavior and Life Stress had the prediction for Depression. According to the finding results, some suggestions were discussed. This study would also offer useful references for the parents and educational institutions to provide further improvements.
