The in situ effective dose for diagnostic x-ray was evaluated via bubble technique in this thesis. The bubble detectors were optimized on the basis of under various working temperature or wrapped with various thickness of aluminum foil, then secondary, the bubbles were put into an indigenous body phantom for evaluating the effective dose. The effective dose as calculated herein was derived following the recommendation of ICRP-60. In this specific report, the effective dose was defined as the summation of the multiplication of different weighting factor and correlated absorbed dose in each specific organ. Thus, the effective dose as derived herein was exactly the calculated results from series of in-situ measurements in real. The operating parameter of diagnostic Chest X-ray was set as 125kVp, 2.2mAs, and 180cm for SID. The evaluated effective dose was 61.37μSv for male and 66.47μSv for female, respectively. Furthermore, the operating parameter of diagnostic Abdomen X-ray was 70kVp, 3.2mAs and 115cm for SID. The evaluated effective dose was 1416.62μSv for male and 1209.59μSv for female, respectively. Since the BDG Bubble detector had strong correlation between bubble nucleation and emulsion temperatures, the bubbles were needed to operate exactly on 22oC. However, the rapid and reliable data offered from bubble technology still maintain its superiority in fast screening.
