This retrospective study was performed to elucidate the risk factors and complications of the patients who received human albumin for nutrition support after the operation of the compartment syndrome. During 2000-1 to 2002-12,totally 4392 cases were treated by surgery for the fracture of their limbs. In these cases, there were 21 cases accepted further decompressive procedure for compartment syndrome. After the decompression, the serum albumin level、electrolytes、blood cell counts of the patients were checked in three days. According to the published nutrition standard, if the albumin level lower than 2.5 g/dl, we gave parenteral nutrition support to the patients with the human albumin once a day for three days. The biochemical conditions of the patients were checked again after the nutrition support, and compare to the previous conditions of the patients by z-test. The result revealed the lower albumin level of the patient, about 2.9 g/dl (average from 1.8 g/dl to 3.9 g/dl) who received the decompression, compare to the normal distribution (from 3.1 g/dl to 4.9 g/dl)(p
