There are many types of communication interface can be used for head controlled systems such as RS232, print port…etc. In this thesis, we present an improved three dimensions head controlled system by using print port and joystick interface. To instead of the former interface card of the ultrasonic head controlled system and make the cost down. The feature of the system is contained the behavior of the computer mouse and the joystick. Users can wear the ultrasonic transmitter on the head and to obtain the variation of voltages due to the motion of head by four ultrasonic receivers mounted on the monitor. And obtain different digital output states based on the particular signals of the four ultrasonic receivers. Then by using print port which will transfer the signals to computer. After analyze the signals of receivers the computer transfers the signal to joystick interface. Then users can simulate the three dimensions control behavior as the joystick. In addition, we add the drag function to computer mouse. It’s the difference from the former one. And then it’s getting more convenient for users in the internet. The development of head-controlled joystick system based on ultrasonic will help the handicapped people to use and learn the interface easily in the network or computer communication. The system also can combine with the eye-tracking system to realize virtual reality and control the 3D video games. Hope it good to disabled.
