This thesis presents the analysis and simulation of a uninterruptible power supply system with the function of active power filter. When the utility is in normal operation, the proposed system will not only supply DC power for battery charging, but also function as an active power filter for improving the power factor. When the utility fails, the proposed system will function as an inverter immediately to supply the battery power to the loads. A four-leg power converter is used in the three-phase four-wire system. Transformation of converter(inverter) system equations from three-phase system to synchronous rotating frame is exercised to facilitate the independent control of voltage and current for balanced, unbalanced as well as he nonlinear loads. Firstly, we derive the mathematical modes and analyze the properties of the systems. Next, there are two kinds of control method for the adopted system: one is the sinusoidal pulse width modulation method (SPWM), and the other is the saturation current control method. Family, simulations are made to confirm the validity of the proposed control algorithm.
