Popis: | 91 With the economical development and social change, the model of family also presents multiple styles. Divorced, single parent and stepfamily became more and more. The soap operas on television, the mass media in society all described the bad news of stepfamily. The researcher is interested in further understanding the views and feelings of those stepfamily children. Qualitative methodology is used in this study. The participants of this study were Wei, Mei, and Yan. They all faced one of their parents’ deaths, and then, during several days became stepfamily children. Based on participants and their parents’ informed consents, participants provided their subjective experience by intensive interviews conducted separately by the researcher. The result of the study is presented in two ways: narrative telling and collective essence. The narratives of life stories from stepfamily children let us understand their feelings and thoughts of the establishment of stepfamily, the relationship of parent-child and Sibling. In order to explore the inner worlds of stepchildren, the researcher tries to find the essence. The interview analysis of four categories as described below. 1. The loss in past experience. 2. The change of parent-child relationship after stepfamily establishment. 3. The aloofness and tightness between siblings. 4. The self-adaptability from childhood. Moreover, reflections, suggestions, and discussions of research results were given further to provide useful information and directions for further research. By this study, the stepparents, schools, teachers and general public can really understand the inside world of the stepchildren. Therefore, necessary resources and assistance can be made available to these children, so that they can have a better life both physically and mentally. |
