Popis: | 91 This research is on the basis of the relative theories and literature of multicultural curriculum, combined with the relative curriculum standards and the analytical approach of weighted system (the AHP-analytic hierarchy process), in order to construct the integrated hierarchy of multicultural curriculum objectives for junior high schools and primary schools. According to the distribution of relative weight and sequence showed in the specific goals from each level, the curriculum objectives will be built for the references of the developing multicultural curriculum in the future. Besides, the researcher also tends to realize between professors and teachers in junior high schools and primary schools, whether there are different perspectives happening on curriculum objectives or not, which is in order to understand the gap between the academic theories and curriculum practices, and to make suggestions for curriculum development. With suggestions from the professors, this research constructs the hierarchy of curriculum objectives, and also designs the questionnaire for the hierarchical structure of multicultural curriculum objectives. The researcher invites professors who have offer multicultural education course in universities, junior high school teachers and primary school teachers who have been studied about multicultural curriculum, as the 42 specialists participating in the evaluation on relative weight in each objective. Using the AHP-analytic hierarchy process as the test analysis approach, this research later accomplishes “the hierarchical structural system of multicultural curriculum objectives”. The following findings emerged from this study: Weighted system of multicultural curriculum objectives can be inducted to be three hierarchies, and the distribution of relative weight of each hierarchy objectives is discussed below: 1. The curriculum objectives of the first hierarchy contains “self-cultural consciousness” (the distribution of relative weight 25.6﹪), “multicultural consciousness” (25.2﹪), “cross-cultural competence” (23.8﹪), and “consciousness and responsibility on citizenship” (25.4﹪). 2. The curriculum objectives of the second hierarchy under “self- cultural consciousness” contains “develop self-concept” (12.8%) and “understand and identify self-culture” (12.2﹪). 3. The curriculum objectives of the second hierarchy under “multicultural consciousness” contains “understand cultural diversities” (13%) and “decrease the stereotype and prejudice” (12﹪). 4. The curriculum objectives of the second hierarchy under “cross-cultural competence” contains “develop ability for social relationship”(13.5%), and “develop multicultural perspectives” (11.5﹪). 5. The curriculum objectives of the second hierarchy under “consciousness and responsibility on citizenship” contains “develop ability for social action” (15.2%) and “participate in the democratic society” (9.8﹪). 6. The curriculum objectives under the second hierarchy can be divided into 16 curriculum objectives as the third hierarchy. According to the results in weight and sequence, the more important objects in order are “develop ability and willingness to participate in society”, “develop attitudes of reasonable communication and democratic respect”, “respect and tolerate cultural differences and diversities”, “develop ethnic cultural consciousness”, “develop positive self-image”, “self-reflect the stereotype or prejudice to other cultures ”, “participate in society and be responsible to the citizenship”, “develop critical ability to reflect social issues”. 7. Among the professors and the junior high school teacher and primary school teachers, the distribution of relative weight for each hierarchy objectives only shows the significant variations at the first hierarchy “self-cultural consciousness”.
