The Impact of Foreign Expansion on the Performance in Taiwan's Commercial Banks

| Popis: | 91 In recently years,the domestic commercial banks set up divisions in foreign,why do it do on earth ? And what effect for the short-term and long-term operation performance the domestic commercial banks set up divisions inforeign ? The study will confer it in detail.And it expect to make a invest suggestion for the investors and the bank managers. The hypothesis are based on the theoies and the reference.In the empirical study,we examines the return rate of stock when the domestic commercial banks set up divisions in foreign by event study.Then we examine the factors of operation performance by regression.The factors include:the total of investment,bank size,management ability,investment,culture,economy.Final,we examine the operation performance before the bank set up the division by Wilcoxon sign rank test. The results show that:the domestic commercial bank set up the division in foreign on that day have a positive influence for the reture of stock.In the short-term operation performance,as the bank size and invest are higher,the operation performance are higher. In the long-term operation performance,before the management is better,then performance will be better.And culture and economy have negative inflence for the operation performance.Final,by Wilcoxon sign rank test,we know that the domestic commercial banks set up divisions in foreign is good for the operation performance. |
