| Popis: | 91 A simple and efficient method was used to inactivate specific genes in Escherichia coli for the production of various mutant strains and observation of their relevant phenotypes. The degP gene, encoding a periplasmic protease/chaperone of DegP, is the gene targeted for inactivation in this study. The structural degP gene on the chromosome was replaced by either an antibiotic-resistant fragment or a transcriptional fusion of PdegP::lacZ. |
