A Study of the Relationships Between Work values and Need Satisfaction of Elementary and Junior High Schools teachers in Keelung. 【Abstract】 The purpose of the research was to inquire 〝the current situation of work values and need satisfaction for teachers 〞and 〝the relationships between work values and need satisfaction of teachers〞, and 〝 understand the difference of work values and need satisfaction for teachers 〞 .There are six purposes in the study as follows: 1. To understand the current situation of work values of public elementary and junior high school teachers in Keelung, and to inquire the difference of variables of sex, service seniority, job type, school type, education, and age structure. 2. To understand the current situation of need satisfaction of public elementary and junior high school teachers in Keelung, and to inquire the difference of variables of sex,service seniority, job type, school type, education, and age structure. 3. To inquire the difference between work values and need satisfaction. 4. To inquire the relationships between work values and need satisfaction. 5. To inquire the prediction of the work values toward need satisfaction of teachers. 6. According to the study findings, providing some suggestions. In order to accomplish the purpose, both literature review and questionnaire were conducted for this study. First, this study based on related theories of 〝work values〞and 〝need satisfaction〞of teachers. Secondly, survey questionnaires focusing on work values and need satisfaction were distributed to public elementary and junior high school teachers in Keelung. The questionnaire had three parts, Including basic materials for teachers, the questionnaire by work values of public elementary and junior high school teachers, and the questionnaire by need satisfaction of public elementary and junior high school teachers. The samples of this study were 541 teachers. Some statistical methods were used to analyze the empirical data, which included mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, product-moment correlation, and multiple stepwise regression analysis. The major findings were stated as below: 1. In current, high self-expected of public elementary and junior high school teachers in Keelung, 〝grow and achievement〞exceed 〝creative and development〞. 2. Toward overall need satisfaction, the elementary and junior high school teachers in Keelung are satisfied. 3. There is low difference on work values from different background of elementary and junior high school teachers. 4. There is significant difference on need satisfaction from different background of elementary and junior high school teachers. 5. There is significant difference on need satisfaction from work values of teachers. 6. This study shows that there is significant positive relationship between work values and need satisfaction of teachers. 7. The need satisfaction is predicted by work values of teachers. Finally, according to the above conclusions, the study provides many suggestions to educational administration, schools, teachers, administrator, and future relative researches.
