Popis: | 90 Due to the advances of network technologies and wide adoptions of video coding standards, digital video applications become increasingly popular in our daily life. Networked multimedia services, such as video on demand, video conferencing, and distance learning, have been emerging in various networked environment. In these multimedia services, it is needed to produce a compressed bitstream containing the video at different lower bit-rates or resolutions than the original bitstream to meet low-end clients’ requirements. Video transcoding can effectively and dynamically convert video bitstream to lower spatial resolutions and frame rates. However, the DCT-MC of DCT-domain video transcoder have higher computational complexity. In this thesis we will propose fast algorithms on bitrate reduction transcoding and spatial downsampling transcoding in DCT-domain transcoder. In this work, we focus on developing new technique and architectures for reducing computational complexity of transcoders that perform bitrate adaptation and spatial downscaling, while maintain satisfactory video quality. We have developed two fast DCT-domain transcoding schemes for rate adaptation and spatial down-scaling, respectively. Finally, from the experimental results we find our scheme will reduce the computational complexity and the video quality not incur severe degradation. |
