Popis: | 89 he purpose of this research is to study the strain distribution of the weldment under a uniaxially static tension load by photoelastic method. Also the hole-drilling strain gage method is used to measure the residual stresses of the weldment, microscope is applied to observe the microstructure of the weldment, and the hardness measurement is used to measure the hardness of the weldment. The effects of residual stresses on the elastic-plastic behavior of shear strain distribution of the base metal and the variation of yielding strength as well as the modulus of elasticiticy at different locations are also studied. The shield gas metal arc weld was used in this research. Two types of materials, low carbon and medium carbon steel. Combined with two types of, welding processes, one and two pass, are applied to study the shear strain distribution of the weldment by the photoelastic and hole-drilling method. The failure manner of the weldnent can be predicted by the principal stress direction on the coating and the location of the densest fringe orders. The hardness and microstructure of the weldment can be used to predict the effects of residual stresses on the mechanical strength of the weldment. |
