Popis: | 89 This study explores the practicality of incorporating media literacy education into multicultural education by using the Japanese trendy drama as the curriculum source. The primary instructional goal is to empower learners by reducing their stereotypes and increasing their understanding of social issues in Japanese trendy drama. The following findings emerge from this study: 1.Using Japanese trendy drama as curriculum source can increase learners’ learning motivation and facilitate group discussion. 2.This curriculum can foster learners to respect different points of views and increase their expression ability. 3.This issue-centered group discussion can promote the participants’ understanding of social issues and help them to find out the social issues and stereotypes hidden in Japanese trendy dramas. 4.The diverse experiences enrich the participants’ understanding and interpretations of social issues. 5.This multicultural curriculum program can help the participants to reduce stereotypes and make them become an active audience. 6.Different social issues have different effects on the empowerment of the participants. According to above findings, some suggestions and reflections of multicultural curriculum design and implementation as well as future study have been proposed.
