Recently, network transaction has become more and more popular because of the rapid development of electronic commerce. Electronic transaction is the virtual manifestation of physical transaction. It endeavors to possess similar properties of the physical transaction. As traditional means of payment, electronic payment systems face on several problems: Money can be counterfeited, signature can be forged, and check bounce. Besides, electronic payment systems have an inherent limitation; they are easy to copy and reuse. Therefore, the security of the electronic payment system is very important. In the real world, gift certificate is one kind of payment systems. It is convenient and friendly payment means. Various electronic cash schemes provide a good starting point to control fraud in e-coupons. However, there is no electronic gift certificate system satisfying physical gift certificate property. In this thesis, we construct an electronic gift certificate system that endeavors to possess similar properties of the physical gift certificate. It has six properties: unforgeability, untraceability, anonymity of original user, transferability, against double spending and framing-freeness.
