According to the 1998 effluent standard set by EPA, the textile industrial effluent limitation of COD and true color is 100mg/L and ADMI unit. It is difficult to meet more and more stringent textile industrial effluent limitation by the combination of traditional active sludge and chemical coagulation process. In this study, the synthetic and real textile industrial effluent was treated by Fenton process to discuss the color removal, sludge production and organic removal. The color removal efficiency of textile industrial effluent without color removal reagent is 49.2% by traditional biological treatment. The difference between ADMI3 and ADMI31 is large. Comparing the color removal efficiency of Fenton and chemical coagulation process, the unit color removal by Fenton coagulation is better than FeCl3, FeSO4 and Fe2(SO4)3. The unit COD removal by FeCl3 is better than Fenton coagulation process, Fe2(SO4)3 and FeSO4 with 200mg/L reagent calculating as Fe2+, Fe3+ concentration. Fe2+ and H2O2 effect the sludge production. Adding eightfold Fe2+ and H2O2 increase the sludge production quantity to 3.12 and 1.51 multiple. The influence of adding Fe2+ to sludge production is larger than adding H2O2. After Fenton process, the relativity of COD and DOC is high. Fenton process can removal the organic and color, oxidize the large molecule to small one, and change the organic molecular structure.
