A numerical method is developed to investigate the hydro- dynamic performance of the slender bodies under higher angleof attack. The Reynolds number is selected between 10e6 to 10e7. And the numerical method applied a finite-volume technique to solve the three-dimensional steady Navier - Stokes equations. The artificial compressible method, a third-order upwind finite volume method, a DDADI time integration and an implicit residual smoothing were applied in the numerical method to achieve a higher-order accurate method. A flow over a circular cylinder, a flow over a sphere and a cubic flow are tested to verify the numerical method and the dynamic grid method. Then flows past a submerged body are simulated to investigate the hydrodynamic performance, under different angle attacks and Reynolds numbers. Finally, flows past a submerged body with dynamic grid are nvestigated. The detailed flow structures, such as separation and reattachment are analyzed to understand the hydrodynamic performance. As the angle of attack equals 30º,the Strouhal Number obtained from the hydrodynamic forces equals 0.125. When the submerged body is moving at constant acceleration speed, the body feels a static friction at the beginning, and then feels a dynamic friction. And the drag force is linearly increasing.
