Today’s business environment is diverse and dynamic. Especially in the high technological software industry, there are great heavy challenges to be faced that include software development efficiency, various customer requirement, and software quality. But in conventional product development sequential approach, Noore mentioned the common drawbacks including no common vision, insular efforts, and late discovery of decision consequences, that cause the bad consequences in quality, development time, and cost. Therefore, this thesis aims to introduce a successful philosophy “concurrent engineering” into software industry and propose an Integration CE Framework (ICEF) to achieve this goal. Concurrent Engineering (CE) is a philosophy that early in the product development process considers all the problems in downstream processes. Further, ICEF extends the CE from development function to marketing function. Based on ICEF, this thesis proposes three CE approaches that can be applied practically. One is Concurrent Engineering Hierarchical Aggregation Model (HAM) that preliminarily measuring object-oriented software correctness early in the software development life cycle. In other words, early in software design stage, this model can help understand the correctness for future customer operations to avoid the risk. Another is Concurrent Engineering Project Management methodology (CEPM) that guides the manager in planning project by modeling the activities, products, and resources and estimating the product quality and project schedule early in project planning stage to achieve good project management efficiency. Lastly, based on electronic commerce environment, this thesis proposes an Adaptive Virtual Sales Agent (AVSA) that can adapt itself to foresee the customer preferences early in the marketing process. In other word, it can enhance the sales by customized marketing through adaptive learning in virtual store. Briefly, this research attempts, through integrating product development function, project management function and product marketing function, to construct the Integrated Concurrent Engineering Framework and associated methods, and to promote competitiveness for the practical software industry.
