In this thesis a fast algorithm for accurately detecting the object contour in a manner of semi-automation was presented. The new method is based on the Snakes model, without using the energy function. The Snake contour will converge to the center point of the initial contour. In the process of convergence, the characteristics of the image are analyzed to achieve an accurate result. This method can also detect multiple objects and apply the contour model for each object automatically. In the experiments, we have shown cases including some complicated objects and multiple objects to demonstrate the availability of our method.
