Popis: | 87 H.324 is an international standard for transmitting low bit rate multimedia information over the General Switched Telephone Network (GSTN). It supports the combination of various types of media (Video/audio/data) and more than one channel for each type. H.324 terminals may be integrated into personal computers or implemented in stand-alone devices such as videotelephones. H.223 is one of the mandatory elements in the H.324 recommendation. An effective implementation of H.223 protocol is important to the realization of H.324 terminals. H.223 is a packet-oriented multiplexing protocol designed for the exchange of one or more information streams between higher-layer entities of data and control protocols as well as the entities of audio and video codecs. It provides low delay and overhead in combining information from different logical channels in a single packet through a octet-based segmentation and reassembly. The objective of this thesis is to verify H.223 multiplexing protocol by software implementation. The simulation is performed on the Microsoft Windows98 operating system with the programs written in VC++. Simulation results show that the protocol procedure defined in H.223 is realizable, and the multiplexing/demultiplexing of multiple information streams can be successfully achieved. |
