Popis: | 87 In this thesis, the effectiveness of tuned liquid column damper (TLCD) in controlling the wave induced response of tension leg platform (TLP) is studied by means of an analytical stochastic technique. The design procedure is also proposed and parameters such as the mass ratio and the coefficient of head loss are obtained optimally while two kinds of liquid are filled in TLCD device. This study also discusses the influence of the width-length ratio of TLCD in controlling structural vibration. It is found that when the TLCD was not applied, corresponding to the increase of the platform mass, the amplitude of platform is increased but the dominant frequency of platform is decreased. Along with the increase of the diameter of the floating barrel and the draft of the platform, the amplitude of the platform is reduced, but the dominant frequency of platform is increased. When the TLCD is applied, the peak value is reduced for the surge response spectra generally. It is noticed that the additional mass of TLCD may increase the structural system mass and then changes the dominant frequency. Particularly while mercury is injected into TLCD, the dominant frequency changes more notably. The effectiveness of TLCD becomes more significant when the width-length ratio of TLCD is increased. If the mass of TLCD is constant, the effectiveness of TLCD will be almost the same no matter water or mercury is injected into. TLCD provides some unique advantages of economy and simplicity to apply and it might be a useful device in practical application of offshore structures. |
