Nowadays, the reason that elementary calligraphic education is inefficient is that the teachers of calligraphy who lack of teaching knowledge and skills. Their attitude about calligraphic teaching is drifting management. The calligraphic education of elementary school won’t improve if those problems remain .Thus, the object of this research is converged on the students of teacher-training institutions. The catalogs of this researching are “the arrangement of calligraphic courses ”, “the idea of calligraphic teaching”, “and the content of calligraphic courses”. The knowledge of calligraphy is necessary for every elementary teachers. So, calligraphic course is a necessary subject for every students in teacher-training institutions before 1993. There were not many differences from all teacher-training institutions in arrangement of calligraphic course. After the decree of “the law of University” going into effect in 1993, only the department of language teaching students must major calligraphic course. Other students of teacher-training institutions have the right to choose whether to major calligraphic course or not. “The appreciation of calligraphy ” and “ The instruction of calligraphy teaching”are two main advanced courses of calligraphy. They are both relative to the teaching knowledge of teacher. “The appreciation of calligraphy”could increase teacher’s knowledge. The “ instruction of calligraphy” is belong to discuss the methodology of calligraphy education. The recognition of calligraphic education of a college professors is very important. It could decide the content of teaching stuff. According to the interview to professors in teacher-training institutions, there are three theories of calligraphic teaching idea. They are “ To know it then to do it”, Calligraphy is a subject ” and “ Skill training of calligraphy”. The theory of “to know it then to do it ”emphasis recognition are more important than the goal of skill. Thus, one should have conception of calligraphy first, then to learn all skills of calligraphy. The theory of “ Calligraphy is a subject ”stresses that calligraphy is the product of culture. It is thoughtful and shouldn’t be limited by skill training. Theory of “Skill training calligraphy” emphasizes that the ability of calligraphy is most important. All the students will be teachers in elementary school in the future. They must own not only conception about calligraphy but also teaching skills to make sure that they could teach calligraphy well. According to the investigation, the calligraphic education of teacher-training institutions starts with the arrangement of courses. For demanding that all students of teacher-training institutions equip with the basic calligraphic ability, all the students should take calligraphy courses. The department of language teaching should have advanced calligraphic courses. The basic solution of calligraphy education is to set up the department of calligraphy, and to foster amount of excellent calligraphy teachers in teacher-training institution. Thus, we can get much promotion both quality and quantity of calligraphy education .
