Popis: | 87 Neutron diffraction and ac magnetic susceptibility techniques have been performed to study the magnetic properties of Fe ions in (PANI)0.16FeOCl compound, which is made by intercalating polyaniline(PANI) into FeOCl. FeOCl is a layered compound with the orthorhombic space group Pmmn. Polyaniline was located between the two neighboring layers of FeOCl. In the FeOCl compound, the Fe ions are trivalent. Intercalate polyaniline into FeOCl induced trivalent Fe ions become divalent. Ac susceptibility measurements exhibits an anomaly at 20 K in the (PANI)0.16FeOCl. This anomaly is associated with the existing of Fe2+ ions. The measurements of ac susceptibility are well-described by using the Curie-Weiss fitting for antiferromagnetic coupling. The effective moment from Curie constant is μeff=4.37μB. The Curie-Weiss fit departure the experimental curve at 100 K. Both FeOCl and (PANI)0.16FeOCl were shown an antiferromagnetic character. The Neel temperature is TN~75 K, and the saturated moment of free Fe ions is =3.17μB. The spins structure is parallel along a axis, and antiparallel along b and c axes. Each layer includes above plane and below plane. The order system can be described by a quasi-3D magnetic layer structure. |
