The Modification of Low Temperature Cured Epoxy Resin with Epoxidized Natural Rubber

Popis: | 86 The curing and the phase separation behaviors of the epoxidized natural rubber (ENR) modified low-temperature-cured epoxy system were studied with differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). From DSC analyses, it was confirmed that the curing kinetic constant, the reaction order, and the glass transition temperature were affected by the presence of ENR. The reaction of ENR also resulted in changes in curing rate and exotherm. It was obtained from SEM that the rubber particle size, rubber volume fraction, and particle size distribution during phase separation depended on the content and type of ENR and on the curing temperature. The addition of ENR decreases the lap shear strength of the prepared specimens. |
