| Popis: | 84 Using the evanescent wave ellipsometric technique, we study the surface induced orientational order of 8-CB liquid crystal in its isotropic phase near a silane-treated glass surface. The results are compared with the Landau-de Gennes theory and theoretical prediction by Ping Sheng.We use Atomic Force Microscope to observe the silane-treated surface, and also use MATLAB programs to analyze the experiment data for 5-CB. |
