Nowadays, software applications are much friendlier andmore powerful than ever before. Software applications are becoming indispensable tools for computer users. While the programming technology improves rapidly and new packages are being produced everyday, users very often have to spend lots of money to buynew packages even when their old packages are just having minor shortcoming. The dynamic modification system has the ability of extending the lifetime of an application in runtime. Users will not haveto buy new packages when there is just some weakness in his old package because dynamic modification platform providesan easy way to improve the function of a package. In a widespectrum of applications, system specifications requiremodifications from time to time to accommodate evolutionarychanges, particularly for those with long expected lifetime.Systems should be adequately flexible to allow arbitrary, incremental changes. Up to now, the evolution of dynamicmodification usually is based on computer language. However,language-based system is hard to use for non- programmer users.We are working therefore to develop a platform system which canconvert a programdesign from programmer oriented to general useroriented. Program development productivity will improvesignificantly by using this new platform which is easy for anyother uses as well. In this paper, a new platform system namedSoftware Component User Interface (SCUI) is presented. It is toprovide following benefits: (1) software development cost willbe greatly reduced, (2) knowledge of software system design canbe shared, (3) program components can be placed in the reusablesoftware library, and (4) it is easier for any concerned users.
