On the taxonomy and distribution of the genus codium stackhouse (cholorphyta, codiaceae) from Taiwan

| Popis: | 83 Seventeen species of Codium (Caulerpales, Chlorophyta) are here reported from Taiwan, including C. lucasii, C. mamillosum, C. minus, C. saccatum, C. edule, C. taitense, C. latum, C. arabicum, C.barbatum, C. geppiorum, C. cylindricum, C. formosanum, C. intricatum, C. papillatum, C. reediae, and two unnamed species, Codium sp.1, Codium sp.2. They belong to four Sections, Adhaerentia, Bursa, Tomentosa, and Elongata. Among them, the former seven species are new records to Taiwan. Anatomical variabilty and taxonomic relationships of the species are considered, and the geographical and local distributions discussed. This is the first monograph of a marine green alga in Taiwan. |
