Popis:	This document examines the ten piano sonatas of Allen Sapp. These ten works demonstrate the composer's stylistic development and correspond to crucial moments of change. The examination looks at Sapp's language and influences of each of three distinct periods, giving general traits and compositional tendencies of the periods. Alternating with these stylistic surveys are more probing analyses of one sonata from each period. While these stand as great musical works in their own, this document is the first comprehensive study on the ten sonatas.
