This work evaluated the influence of four different insertion techniques of light-cured condensable composite resin in class II restorations on marginal sealing by the mieroleakage tests of a dye agent. One hundred and twenty cavities were prepared in extracted bovine teeth with gingival wall located in dentine/cementum being randomly divided into four groups (n=30) according to the restorative techniques: group 1 - bulk insertion; group 2 - horizontal increments insertion; group 3 - oblique increments insertion and group 4 - mixed insertion. The eavities were restored with adhesive system (Prime & Bond 2.1 @) and composite resin (Surefil@). After the restoration had been polished, the teeth were submitted to a thermocycle proeess (5:t 22C and 55:t 22C during 1000 cycles) and properly impermeabilized, they were immersed in a dye solution of 2% Methylene Blue pH 7 for 4 hours. Following that proeess, the teeth were cut and evaluated for microleakage in gingival wall and restorative material interface by two examiners using a stereoseope magnifying glass (50x) with regard to previous criterion (0-4 seore). The Kruskal-Wallis test has showed no statistically significant difference in mieroleakage among different techniques in terms of 5% significance. No restorative technique was able to eliminate the mieroleakage in class 11 restorations with condensable composite resin in gingival margin located in dentine/cementum
