Popis: The work presents an exploratory bibliographic and documentary research on the insertion of Information Literacy in the curricula of Library Science courses in Brazil and Mexico. The empirical material of the documentary research was the curricular flows, the menus and, in some cases, the syllabus of the disciplines of the Library Science courses and the like existing in both countries. Data processing and analysis were performed using the Content Analysis method of the syllabus and course syllabus. The results reveal that Information Literacy is increasingly present in the form of disciplines in the curricula of Librarianship courses in Mexico, being contained as program content in some disciplines of the mandatory curricular flow. As far as it is concerned, in Brazil, less than half of the courses have a discipline or programmatic content of some discipline in the curriculum that refers to Information Literacy. In addition, in both countries, the curricula don’t have standardized use of the term. It’s concluded that Information Literacy is presented in the curriculum both in discipline format and transversally, but that it isn’t yet present in most curricula in Brazil, unlike Mexico, and points out the need to insert the theme in the format of disciplines, in order to train librarians who act as multipliers of information competence.
