In September 2015, leaders of 150 countries, at the UN Summit on Sustainable Development, adopted a new agenda on the issue and a new agreement on world climate. These actions were summarized in the 17 objectives for sustainable development (ODS) and 169 goals, with an economic, social and environmental focus and highlighting actions in favor of human rights, gender equality, empowerment of women and fight against poverty. Libraries, which aim to facilitate access to information and knowledge, in any medium or medium, in an equal way and in a way that all users have opportunities, have been called by IFLA to carry out actions in favor of the ODS, defended in Agenda 2030 of the UN. In Brazil, Agenda 2030 has been widely disseminated by Information Science institutions, in particular, by the Brazilian Federation of Library Associations (FEBAB). In 2017, the Brazilian Congress of Library Science, Documentation and Information Science (CBBD) had its main theme Agenda 2030. In the same year, the Brazilian Journal of Library Science and Documentation (RBBD) published a special issue highlighting some communications of the event and in 2019 FEBAB will launch a practice booklet, which exemplifies and aligns actions of Brazilian units, as well as ratifying them as strategic partners for compliance with the ODS. These publications contextualize the role of libraries and information professionals in relation to ODS in Brazil. Based on the research of publications in the area of Information Science, the actions for the promotion of Agenda 2030 in Brazil were detailed and a mapping of the ODSs was systematized through bibliographical, qualitative and quantitative research. descriptive. The corpus of analysis was composed by the review of the annals of the CBBD, the special issue of the RBBD, the results of research in Brapci - Data Base in Information Science and in the book of best practices "Libraries for a better world: the 2030 agenda" , which will be launched in 2019. For data collection and analysis, indicators were categorized within the universe of ODS actions and axes, as well as the geographic location, the typology of the information units, the target audience and possible results indicated. Regarding the results, each corpus presented its particularities and denoted different forms of analysis and categorization. It was noted that "ODS 4. Ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all" was favored in three sources of analysis: in the CBBD with 27% of the axis work which privileged ODS in this line; in the RBBD, through the analysis of keywords in the Library category and in Brapci by most of the publications located address actions for education and sustainable development in public, school, prison and university libraries. Febab's unpublished material analysis has shown examples of initiatives for all ODS in all regions of Brazil, confirming that libraries can be strategic partners for compliance with ODS. |
